hb3I consider Pulp Fiction to be one of the true classics of modern cinema – so although I haven’t seen many films starring Amanda Plummer (daughter of Christopher Plummer), the fact that she starred in this one as Yolanda (aka Honey Bunny) was quite enough. If you are familiar with the film, you may recall the prologue in which a couple are poised to rob a diner and then returns in the epilogue to show how the robbery went. In essence, this extended scene is the glue which holds the film together as Amanda Plummer and Tim Roth both discuss and then act out the robbery.

I was actually a bit surpised to find out that Amanda Plummer had been doing the celebrity show circuit, since most of the Pulp Fiction stars were purely A-list but was happy to get the chance to meet her at the Parsippany Chiller Theatre show on April 18, 2009. Then I realized that she hadn’t really been doing much acting work of note lately and in fact may have been one of the lesser known stars of the film. The only other film in which she starred that comes to mind is the classic cult film Freeway – but others included So I Married an Axe Murderer, Needful Things, The Fisher King, and Joe Versus the Volcano.

Although she seemed a wee bit spacey during our encounter, she was quite kind and rather attractive. She was very willing to pose for a picture after I purchased the signed photo (naturally) from Pulp Fiction. I always love making eyes at the attractive female stars whom I meet in person – and she was one of those eye-makers…for certain, an encounter that I’m proud of!
