The logical show from which most folks would know actor Mike Connors would be Mannix, which ran for eight season from 1967-1975. Afterall, his performance as title character Joe Mannix garnered him four Golden Globe nominations (he won once) and four Emmy nominations. But no…having never seen a single episode of Mannix, it was the one-season wonder from 1981-82 known as Today’s F.B.I., from which I know the man. Because, what ten year old wouldn’t watch a show called Today’s F.B.I. ?

My friend Bob kindly picked me up an unsolicited signed photo of Mike Connors (seen above) in the late 1990’s when he was doing a celebrity golf outing. Since I had the autograph, I decided to give it a shot and ask him to pose for a picture with me when I saw him at the Hollywood Show on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Afterall, he looked like a kind man. Sure enough, he posed with me for free. So I ended up with a signed picture and a photo with Mike Connors and never had to spend a dime.
