tiny4.jpgOn Saturday night, Ashleigh came home with her friends, and like any teenager worthy of the title, forgot to close the garage door. This wasn’t really that big of a deal. We live in a relatively safe neighborhood so no one stole our cars.

But then the next morning, just after her friend Jamey left the house early to go to work, I came downstairs to find a chilly breeze moving through the entryway. Careful observation notified me that the front door had not been closed all of the way. Since Tiny had been with me upstairs and Baby never even tries to go out (the little angel), I didn’t think much of it. I asked Ashleigh and Jessica if there was any particular reason that the front door was open, then calmly shut it and went about my business.

About three hours later, I was taking some trash out into the garage and noticed a cat sitting on the roof of Ashleigh’s car. Then I recognized the cat. It was Tiny. She saw me, let out her obligatory birdlike chirp and then carefully walked down the windshield toward me. She stopped and looked up at me seeming to say “Okay, I’m done out here. Take me in now.”

So I did. For an hour she frolicked around the house as if to celebrate her hours of exploration but also affectionately indicated her relief to be back home again. That’s Tiny for you. I’m grateful that she wasn’t hurt or lost, but I hope she enjoyed her Sunday morning stroll.
