ira.jpgIra and Mildred had a small home in Teakwood Village, a retirement mobile home park in Largo, Florida. Over the years, I made several visits to their home with my parents and have very fond memories of our get-togethers.

Ira, being my Grandma Range’s older brother, was an amazing man with an incredible work ethic and a strong commitment to accomplish anything he set his mind to – whether it be gardening, playing the organ, or sewing his own leisure suits. And when I say ‘sewing,’ I mean sewing the whole thing together from scratch. Mildred was equally kind and always prepared meals or snacks for us – playing games and giving special attention to us kids.

Although I do not remember our visit with them from 1975, this was likely the first time I ever met them. Above and below are two slides taken during the trip plus an additional photo (to the one seen here) of my Dad and Bill posing with them. This photo was from my Grandma Range’s collection.
