last2.jpgI don’t feel too sad about wrapping up our great Myrtle Beach trip of ’06, because as this is being posted, I am currently well into another week in Myrtle Beach. We spent our last day, Friday, August 5, mostly at the Windy Shores condo. I mentioned earlier that this condo holds more great memories for me than the Links, because of some great trips I spent here in the late 80’s and the 90’s with Christi and Lisa (not at the same time!) – and Ashleigh when she was little.

Basically on this day we just swam all day in the pool and the ocean. Both times that we were at the ocean this week, I walked the beach listening to Just Say Yo! and Just Say Mao!, two Sire Records compilations that I listened to here back in the early 1990’s. I do these things to invoke the inevitable sense of nostalgia. I didn’t bring the camera down to the pool, but had Mom take some photos of the girls on the beach (my girls, not just any girls) – which she did. But then when she got home, she somehow managed to erase all of the photos that she took in Myrtle Beach. Ugh! We did snap a few from the balcony, though – just so we’d remember the pool and ocean.

Mom and Grandpa went out for Chinese food on Friday night, but the girls and I just stayed back at the Links and swam and ate leftovers and watched TV. I read my new Handbook to the Bible and Stan: The Life of Stan Laurel while they watched Failure to Launch. I think the only movie besides Basic Instinct 2 that I watched all week was Final Destination with Mom and the Girls. Mostly I brought along DVD’s of TV shows including my relatively new color Honeymooners and The Bob Newhart Show. Anyway, we left on Saturday morning. Our sunkissed bodies were worn out from a fun and exhausting week, so the trip home was not quite as jubilant as the trip down as is apparent from the photos below. Naturally, there was a tad bit of loopiness present – simply because of the photographic subjects you are dealing with here.
