Sometimes certain celebrities fall into the ‘just because’ category. They don’t particularly mean that much to me, but for some reason the idea of getting an autograph from and photo with them just sounds appealing. Maybe it’s because the value of $20 is getting less and less to me. Who knows? But in this particular case, pop performer Stacey Q fall into this category. She was there, present, and accounted for at the Hollywood Show on April 24, 2010, so I went ahead and got  an autograph from her.

It’s true that I do fondly recall the days of Stacey Q in the mid-1980’s when the face of music started to fall apart. She was one of the practitioners of bubbly dance music that would herald this fall for me, but I guess I liked her song Two of Hearts well enough. It peaked in the U.S. Billboard charts at #3. And besides, no one could argue that this bubbly gal who was already approaching 30 even at that time, was quite adorable.

She still was cute, and very nice. So there I was, plunking down a sawbuck, and picking up the nice signed photo above (which is from the cover of her sixth studio album Color Me Cinnamon, just released a couple of months before our encounter) and a photo with this mild pop icon.
