toledo2.jpgThere were three occasions when I met Miss December 1968 Cynthia Myers, the Toledo, Ohio native whose Playmate appearance was titled “Wholly Toledo!” The first was at the Hollywood Collectors Show during the Summer of 1995. On this occasion, I purchased a Playboy Magazine from her to get Hugh Hefner to sign as detailed here. The second time was during a Chicago Glamourcon visit in May of 1999. There I purchased the photo below, tastefully censored to continue the family atmosphere of The Terrible Catsafterme.

I brought this photo along with me to the Hollywood Collectors Show during February 2007. Since I had already purchased signed items twice in the past from this Playmate and star of Russ Myers’ Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, I had no intention of making any additional purchases. When I showed her the photo I already had in my possession, she was very friendly and posed for the above photo with me.

She even asked me if I would like to take a second one in case the first one hadn’t come out. Bob, who was snapping the shot, said that he thought it would be fine – to which I replied, “If she’s offering to keep her arms around me for another picture, then we are taking another one!”

I chatted with Cynthia Myers yet again when I ran into her at the Chiller Theatre show in New Jersey on April 18, 2009. I didn’t obtain an autograph or photo with her, but I did tell her how I had now met her three times. As usual, she was very cordial.

This concludes the celebrity encounters from the February Hollywood Collectors Show. Return to the show here

  1. If you happen to have one, I would love to have a copy of the picture of Cynthia kneeling on the white fur rug, minus the blackout squares please. It would be a great addition to my collection.
