Although I did a decent job of remembering my last week as a camper at Woodland Altars in 1990, I had only a pathetic display of photos from the trip. It was obvious that I didn’t place much importance on photos like I do today. Fortunately when I met up with my friend and fellow camper Lee McAdams, I found that he had quite an impressive array of photos from this week at camp that he was willing to share with me. So enjoy these various poses of our group and some of me in various stages of mugging and tongue-wagging. And as you can see, I wasn’t kidding about wearing sunglasses 24/7.

Chris and John…and possibly my foot on the hogan floor. I never used a cot. Too cool.

Return to Woodland Altars 1990…
Why is Ben not wearing pants in the picture with Chris? Denise and I always managed to keep our pants on at Youth Camp (right Denise???).

I know that MY pants were always on while at Youth Camp (except for swimming time or other necessary “pants off” times). I can’t speak of what the boys did in and around their hogans.
Perhaps Ben was wearing VERY short shorts in that picture. It kind of looks that way in the hayride photo as well; there are no pants visible there either.

WOW! what a blast from the past. From the pics it seems that maybe I didn’t bring any pants just like it was supposed in the comments by Denise and Aaron. I’m fairly certain I did, I was pretty shy about that sort of thing then but then there is no way to prove that now. haha That’s funny. But from the caption of me and Chris it seems like you called me Chris’s dip bag. I think I may be offended. haha

I saw Lee’s shirt and thought the motto of “Challenged in the 90’s and Committed for Life” is so very funny to me now. I guess out of context and having just come from a class about the mentally ill my non pc mind went awry. 🙂
On a more serious note it was really fun to look at these old photos one more time and remember the place and people that I still hold very dear in my heart. You all had such a big roll in the person I turned out to be. Oh and Ben put some pants on!

This is really great stuff. What memories. It totally takes me back to Peebles. I have a distinct memory at camp that year of asking you (Brad) how many CDs you had. I seem to remember that you answered 60, not including picture discs, and then started talking about some rare Kiss release. We were at the foot of the ridge. I’ll never forget.
