Because of this, along with some things she says that indicates she does things like smoke cigars, has a strong handshake, works as an electrician, and has a truck, Phil thinks that Dani is actually a man. A woman named Katie (Nikki Deloach) is impressed by Stuart’s service to his country, and before he can tell her what he really does, she invites him out on a date, and they sleep together. Phil convinces Holly that Dani might be a man, so Holly agrees to try and infiltrate the situation by dressing up as a man pretending to be a woman. Stuart gets Haskell to sit down with Rob to hear him out, and Rob manages to make amends with Haskell by telling him that there is no excuse for his behavior, but he wants Haskell back in his life. Haskell is receptive to him, and the next thing Rob asks is for Haskell to donate one of his kidneys to him. When Haskell tells this to Stuart, he thinks that Rob is just conning and using him for the kidney and wants to talk him out of it. However, Haskell heads out to spend some time at his brother’s hotel room, where Rob wines and dines him and gives him an envelope full of cash. After a few days, Stuart and Phil go to see him and tell him that he is being conned. Haskell doesn’t want to believe it initially, but then realizes that he is nothing but a ‘kidney whore.’ After Vanessa finishes her day with Holly and Eden, Holly gives her an autographed picture to help inspire her, but is surprised when Vanessa tells her that she doesn’t want to be a lawyer any longer because it is too much work. She says she’d rather be an assistant like Eden, telling Vanessa that she is capable of something much more fulfilling than Edens’ job. This hurts Eden’s feelings, and she sulks out of the room. Holly goes to bring her gift basket and apologize, but Eden says that Holly is completely right and that she is more disappointed in herself, telling Holly how she dropped out of school when it got too hard and has never been able to pick up the pieces and move onto a more rewarding career. Holly tells her that she is going to establish the Holly Franklin Scholarship and help send Eden through school again. Eden points out that she did help someone achieve their dreams after all. He says he didn’t tell Haskell because he wanted to continue spending time with him. He admits that he came for a kidney, but he found a brother. (Ryan McCann) from Atlanta at her office and wanted an excuse for them to get together at a party. Nikki informs Stuart that their father Frank (Peter Onorati) is coming to the party from Staten Island, but Stuart isn’t happy because his father always makes pot shots at him for being so effeminate. Meanwhile, Phil has a new girlfriend new Verena, a clothes designer who gives him a pair of pants to wear to the party, but they are so tight, he can barely get into them. When Frank shows up, he starts ragging on Stuart right away, and Stuart quickly loses his temper and tells him that he didn’t want him there after all. His father storms off and says he’ll skip the party, and Nikki gets annoyed at Stuart and decides she’s not going to go either. When Stuart tells Holly that the party is off, she panics and decides to make sure that the party happens. She tells Stuart that his father and sister apologized to him, and then tells Frank and Nikki that Staurt apologizes to them, telling each of them that the other person was too ashamed to do it himself. When Frank sees Haskell with a Rolex watch knockoff, he offers him $100 for it, and Stuart is quick to take it. However, he later finds out that the Rolex was indeed real and schemes to get it back. However, Frank has given it to J.D. in appreciation for Holly throwing the party. Haskell tries to buy it from him, and when he won’t sell it, Haskell tries to take it by force. Phil’s pants are so tight that when Verena calls him, he can’t get the phone out of the pocket, so he asks J.D. to answer the phone through his pants. When Stuart bumps into someone at the party and apologizes, Nikki thanks him for apologizing to her and their father. Staurt tells her that he didn’t apologize, and they realize that Holly has lied to them. Frank gives them their birthday gifts, and Staurt’s is a taser since he thinks he can’t take care of himself in the city. Nikki’s is a key to an apartment back in Staten Island. He tells them that he never understood Stuart, but that he now knows it is his problem and not Stuart’s. He also tells Nikki that he just wants to be closer to her, and he apologizes for always trying to get his way. They all embrace and agree to forgive. 7/20/24
  • 049. Catch It ‘Cause You Can – 12/17/24
    • Haskell, as a former Midwest Bowling Champion, has been invited back to Akron, Ohio, where he will be part of a ceremony at a bowling alley where they are dedicating a lane to him. Stuart plans to go with him, but Phil says he can’t go because he is playing in a golf tournament. Meanwhile, Holly is proud of Eden for buckling down and doing her homework but then spots her at the bar flirting with a guy (Justin Smith). She immediately scolds her and sends her back home to write her paper. When Holly stops by to check on her, Eden says she has finished the paper and is going to bed, asking Holly to do a spelling check for her. Holly winds up re-writing the entire paper and submitting it to the professor. Phil meets a stewardess named Dee Dee (Keesha Sharp) and has her spend the night before his tournament. As Haskell and Stuart are getting ready to leave for the airport, Dee Dee gets a call from her airline, who tells her that the CDC has found someone on one of her flights with a possible infectious disease and wants her and anyone with whom she has had contact to quarantine. Since she slept with Phil, kissed Haskell on the cheek to congratulate him, and used Stuart’s toothbrush before he did, Stuart enforces that they all quarantine. Dee Dee takes care of them like a stewardess, offering them drinks, hot towels, and meals. Holly is furious when she finds out that Eden got a B-minus on the paper that she wrote, so she goes to see Professor Straf (Rohan Nichol) to find out why. When she demands that he re-read it, he agrees, and the two hit it off when they start quoting poetry and wind up sleeping together in the office. When Phil complains about missing his tournament, Haskell tells him how selfish he is to not even care about his bowling ceremony. Phil decides to make up for it by hooking Haskell up with the ability to call in via Skype to the event. However, he then finds out that the event was cancelled due to lack of interest and ticket sales. Since Stuart has already told Haskell about how Phil was going to hook him up with Skype, he now decides to disable the internet so that Haskell’s feelings aren’t hurt by the lack of interest. Holly proudly goes to see Eden to have her check her updated grade, only to find that it is now a C-minus. When Holly admits that she wrote the paper and went to see the professor, she thinks that Holly doesn’t believe in her, but Holly has to confess that she is simply a control freak. Eden tells her that the Holly Franklin Scholarship needs to come with less Holly Franklin. Professor Straf noted on the paper that it didn’t build to a ‘satisfactory climax.’ With the wifi unavailable to Skype, Haskell turns to his tablet and mobile phone, but Phil keeps taking them away from him. When it becomes obvious something is going on, Stuart finally admits that the event has been cancelled. After feeling down about it, Haskell realizes he will one day do great things again. Phil admits that he was selfish and should have been there for Haskell in the first place, but Haskell reminds him that he wound up there for him in the end. Dee Dee is notified that the sick passenger simply had a food allergy, so the quarantine is cancelled. 11/21/24
  • 050. Requiem for a Dream – 1/7/2015
    • Holly talks the guys into attending a charity auction event for her firm in order to send kids to camp, with her real motivation to meet a guy to marry. Each of the guys find something that they decide to bid on. Haskell wants to do a police officer ride-along, so he bids $8.00 and then stand over the silent auction bid sheet and sneezes on it whenever anyone else approaches. Phil bids on a dinner with actress Caren Dupree (Jenifer Lewis), who played on an 80’s sitcom called The Morgans that he used to watch, even feeling like her character was his second mother. Stuart is excited about bidding on a cooking lesson with famous Chef Robert Thomas (Jonathan Cake). Although Haskell and Phil both win their auctions, Phil gets into a bidding war with Holly when she becomes instantly attracted to Chef Thomas once she sees him. The Chef agrees that if they both pay the high bid, he will host a joint cooking class with them. Haskell is disappointed when he is assigned to be with Officer Wilson (Leslie David Baker), who is retiring the next day and wants to take it easy and do nothing more than leisurely driving around getting some frozen yogurt. However, when Wilson’s shift ends, Haskell is given the much more aggressive and reckless Officer Burke (Christopher Titus), who speeds through the city, responds to a robbery and asks Haskell to be his backup, and then poses as a criminal hellbent on killing a cop. Haskell nearly has a breakdown and returns home a nervous wreck. Phil is thrilled with meeting Caren Dupree and has her autograph multiple things for him, bringing her back to the apartment so that she can sign more. He is surprised when she starts to put the move on him, and when he stops her advances, she tells him that she has recently become single. Phil tells her that he understands and assures her that she is still an attractive and vibrant woman, giving her a tender hug. Stuart is impressive with the way he handles himself in the kitchen, so Holly demands all of the attention from Chef Thomas. However, the Chef is brutal with his critique of Stuart, which Stuart thinks is his way of showing him that he has promise. When the Chef then tells Stuart that he will never be a Chef and the closest that he should ever come to gourmet dining is to eat the food, Stuart is clearly hurt and slinks out of the apartment. Holly doesn’t take kindly to the way that the Chef treated Stuart, so she rebuffs his advances and tells him that Stuart is more of a man than he will ever be. Later, when Holly check on Stuart to see how he is, Stuart tells him that the Chef’s advice was the best that he ever received, and it has only inspired him to search his soul for his recipes instead of following ones that someone else created. He considered it to be the best cooking lesson he ever had, which infuriates Holly, as she has thrown out a perfectly good guy.11/22/24
