"Thank you, toilet bowl" - Bill Cosby, "Bill Cosby: Himself"

I’m not sure when the exact moment was, but at some point I decided that to begin expanding my celebrity encounter realm from sitcom starring roles, to guest stars and character actors who appeared in sitcoms. If you took the time to map that out, you’ll not that it exponentially expands the ultimate number of people this would encompass to roughly infinity. If the size of my celebrity pool was a walnut before, it has now expanded into a moon (but not actually taking the time to do this, I’m not sure which moon). This of course makes the hobby more fun, perhaps more obscure (which to me is more fun), and of course, more expensive. This seemed like an appropriate introduction for this particular celebrity, as it encompassed all three of these criteria.

While browsing the list of people who were going to attend the Lexington Comic & Toy Con on March 10, 2018, I came upon the attractive Brittany Daniel. So attractive in fact, that I was rooting for her to have been in something that interested me. It turned out there quite a few, even if her most famous, the teen drama Sweet Valley High, or the CW series The Game weren’t among them. In the past I would have loved to see episodes of another teen drama called Swans Crossing again, mostly because it was in that show that I first took note of (translated: fell in love with) Sarah Michelle Gellar, but now because I found out that Brittany Nicole had been a series regular as well.

But that still wasn’t what really excited me. Could it have been that she appeared in an episode of The New Leave It to Beaver series? Or that she been seen in Just Shoot Me, or more recently Black-ish? Surely it had been her recurring role as Carmen in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Well those would all be good guesses, and most likely would have been enough to command my interest in ‘getting her’ at the show.

In actuality though it had been her turn as Eric Foreman’s hot cousin in the That 70’s Show episode titled appropriately enough Eric’s Hot Cousin. I remembered this episode very well. Had I seen it more recently, I would have immediately sought out this actress on Facebook, and secretly wished that she would appear at an autograph show. Incidentally she also went on to be a regular in the short-lived sitcom That 80’s Show.

And then there she was, sitting unassumingly in the corner, not bringing in too much business at all. And even though $20 is getting pretty pricey for a table photo op, she was about the cheapest one at the show. And although, she didn’t command quite enough interest in me to purchase an autograph (these one-off character actors and actresses seldom do), I was pretty excited to get a photo with her. She was still hot… and also very friendly.

Here’s to sitcoms! Here’s to people in sitcoms! And here’s to not having a cousin as hot as Brittany Daniel forcing me to have to wrestle with my impulses the way that Eric Foreman failed!

Celebrity encounters from the 2018 Lexington Comic & Toy Con will continue…
