I have absolutely zero interest in most of the tripe that Corey Haim has done since the 1980’s – not the reality shows, nor any modern anything involving The Two Coreys, nor the succession of direct-to-video film, nor his drug problems. But what does interest me is his appearance in the 1987 cult classic The Lost Boys and his starring role the next year in License to Drive, which I find remarkably funny and entertaining. Who can forget the lore surrounding ‘the two Coreys’ back in the 1980’s, which sadly lingered on twenty years later?
So I had had Bob pick me up a signed photo of Corey Haim (as seen above) at one of the Hollywood Collectors Shows in the late 1990’s. And when the opportunity presented itself to have a photo op with Corey Haim – even if it did cost $10 – I went ahead and took it at the Hollywood Show on October 4, 2008.
Sadly, no real story to report here. He was a nice enough guy who appeared to have unbounding energy as he bounced around the show often chatting with Erika Eleniak who was seated nearby. From one lost boy to another: ’twas nice to meet you.
Celebrities of the 2008 Hollywood Collectors Show will continue…
In my humble opinion, “Murphy’s Romance” (1985) is also worth a look where Corey appears with the great James Garner.
