mom50.jpgHere are some additional shots from my Mom’s surprise birthday party held on February 5, 2000 – previously discussed here. These were from her collection of photos and gave an additional glimpse of the goings-on at the Knights of Pythias lodge on this particular evening. In the photo at right of me greeting Mom at the door and below of Denise greeting her, you will notice the box of Turtles that she brought along for Charles, after being told that this was a party in his honor.

mom502.jpgMom kept repeating, “This was supposed to be a party for Charles!” as the tears began to roll. We knew that she had had suspicions all along, though. I wonder if Charles ever did get those turtles?? In the photo below, Mom poses with Frank and Mary Rosati. These were old friends of my parents, whom I can remember from my earliest days. They were both always fun-loving and treated me like a friend instead of some pesky little kid.

In the next two photos, Mom blows out her candles and then, with Bob, prepares to open gifts seated upon a throne. Hey, it came with the room; why not use it?

Ashleigh and Nikki danced all night. It was some combination of the waltz, swing, and breakdancing all rolled into one.

Parting shots are Mom posing with Grandpa Murphy – and then with her brother and sisters.
