Eight Months, Nine Months…And Wham!

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

be4.jpgAs I began to edge my way into the Summer of 1972, I was beginning to get the itch to move my 21 pound 8 oz body around. By June, I was beginning to pull myself up into a standing position. By August, I would be standing without support. But in between these periods, I was particularly fond of scooting about in my walker. Oh yes, the fateful walker. Read the rest of this entry »

Bev and Ed: The Beginning of Many Great Years

Monday, December 10th, 2007

bev7.jpgThe first wedding that I ever attended was on May 20, 1972. My aunt Bev was marrying a fellow that she had met at the Catholic Young Person’s Club (CYPC), the same organization in which my parents had met. My future uncle, young Ed Tangeman was attending an outdoor volleyball game in late October of 1971 with his friend Mike Kennedy, a guy who Bev knew through my aunt Diana and my Mom. Bev was there with Mary Stoff (also a friend of my parents) and her ears immediately perked up when she heard that there was a guy there named ‘Ed’ – it seems that the last three guys in whom she had been interested were also named Ed. Black and White Springtime ’72

Friday, November 9th, 2007

6.jpgSo, you may be asking yourself, what exactly was Brad up to during the Spring months of 1972? Well, I was defintely too young to ingrain any of my shenanigans onto a readable section of my inner brain. But fortunately, my Mom kept a Sweet Baby Days keepsake and memory jogger. It indicates that in the March of 1972 I first began to sit steadily about and creep (doesn’t that ever sound sinister?). It also indicated that my top four teeth came in at six months. I was also packing on the weight as I am so fond of doing and hit 19lbs. 3oz. at the six-month mark. Read the rest of this entry »

Outside John Glenn ’72

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

1out2.jpgIn juxtaposition to a previous photo posting from 1972, “Inside John Glenn ’72” – which again, refers to the street on which my family lived until 1973 rather than the astronaut himself – here is the sequel, “Outside John Glenn ’72.” Here you will find some nice colorful photos taken on the outside of our little abode in the Spring and early Summer months of 1972. As you can see in the pictures, I greatly enjoyed going outside and being pushed around in my stroller. It was on the front sidewalk where I would eventually take my first steps – coming soon to a posting near you. Read the rest of this entry »

Inside John Glenn ’72

72bab8.jpgThe John Glenn house that is, not the astronaut. It’s random picture time again!… featuring a nice array of color slides of me and my family in our natural habitat, the house at 1849 John Glenn Rd. in Dayton, Ohio. The slides were dated March of 1972, and the calendar in the background of the first shot below verifies that they were indeed taken in March. To see more info about this glorious house in which I spent the first two years of my life, click here. Read the rest of this entry »
