St. Pete Beach Fun in the Sun
Friday, January 12th, 2007Continuing with a batch of recently-located slides from our 1975 Florida trip. Between the many activities of this fun-filled (but mostly lost-from-memory) vacation, including a day at Disney World, Sunken Gardens, and a visit with Ira and Mildred (highlighted in more detail here) – we did a lot of swimming as indicated in these nice shots. On Christmas Eve, he presented me with the heretofore lost artifacts, which had turned up in the back of his closet, along with some other great slides of the era – plus some additional ones of his family trips from the 1960’s. These Florida slides were dated June of 1975, further narrowing the dates of the trip. Read the rest of this entry »
My Name on Everything
Monday, December 4th, 2006I guess you could say that I have always taken great pride in my work. So I would guess that it was sometime around 1975 that I first learned to write my name – a feat that I wanted to proudly share with everyone. I also was probably told that it was good to put your name on things that were yours so that if they were lost, you could reclaim them. That is why I decided that I would put my name on every single item possible in my room. Read the rest of this entry »
