The Beavercreek Beavers – 20 Years Later

For those of you who may have been concerned – and I know there are many of you – that I was not going to reach an acceptable quota (whatever that may be) of ‘reunions’ with old friends whom I hadn’t seen in five or more years, you obviously had forgotten that this was the 20th anniversary of my graduation from Beavercreek High School. So on Saturday, July 17, 2010 – less than a week after returning from Florida – I headed out for my third high school class reunion being held at the Holiday Inn in Beavercreek. nicole1I first met Nicole Perez at Beavercreek High School during our sophomore year that began in  the Fall of 1987. She and I were in Mrs. Joyner’s math class together, along with her friend Lance – who would later become my best friend over the next year. I immediately liked Nicole for her dry, witty, and occasionally biting sense of humor. It wasn’t long before the three of us were speaking a language of our own. And besides that, she was one of the most beautiful girls I had ever seen. Read the rest of this entry »

steve2Steve Johnson must have said “WOW!” ten times after we first spotted each other at the Pub at the Greene on Thursday, May 21, 2009. I wasn’t sure if it was because I had changed so much after eighteen years or because I hadn’t changed at all. Steve claimed it was the latter, but I’m not sure if I believe him. Tony Curtis

Tony Curtis is a legendary actor who has met with varying degrees of success over the duration of more than fifty years in the business. At the top of his game, he was in such classics as The Defiant Ones (for which he was nominated for an Academy Award), Some Like It Hot, Spartacus, and The Great Race. During the 70’s and 80’s he was in lesser-known roles such as The Bad News Bears Go to Japan, the remake of Little Miss Marker, and The Last Tycoon with Robert De Niro. Read the rest of this entry »
