Hey Hey It’s a Monkee!

mickyThe most amazing thing about the pop phenomenon band of the 1960’s The Monkees was that they were formed solely for the purpose of a television show. Micky Dolenz for example couldn’t even play the drums and was subjected to intensive training so he could even ‘mime’ the activity sufficently. From the popularity of the show in which the actors were only playing rock stars, they actually ended up becoming rocks stars, producing several acclaimed albums including the amazing Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. mm3Mark Metcalf has the distinction in starring in three completely different roles in film and TV (and even music video) that I have enjoyed over the years. For starters, he played the obnoxious ROTC cadet officer Douglas C. Lone Pine – Day One

lp13I was rather surprised with the weather in California when I awoke at the Courthouse Motel in Independence on Friday, October 10, 2008. It had dropped down to 45 degrees overnight. I knew it got chilly up in Northern California so I had my Amsterdam sweatshirt with me, but I was hoping the it would warm up during the afternoon.
