Gimli, Sallah, and Werewolf
Wednesday, August 10th, 2016Some actors are lucky enough to strike gold not only once, but twice. John Rhys-Davies is such an actor. I’m more inclined to be enamored by his role in Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, in which he plays Sallah. He spoke such famous lines as “Indy, why does the floor move?”, “Oh my friends! I’m so pleased you’re not dead!”, and in referring to the ark, “Death has always surrounded it. Visitor from Another Friday
Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016Having missed my opportunity to meet the original Pamela Voorhees from the first Friday the 13th, played by Betsy Russell (although I did secure an autograph as seen here), I was disappointed when Nana Visitor, who reprised the role in the 2009 reboot cancelled her appearance at the Fall 2015 Chiller Theatre show. But never fear! Or maybe you should fear; after all she is Pamela Voorhees. Beaver’s Violet… and More
Tuesday, June 14th, 2016Although I had met Angela Cartwright on several occasions, I had had her sister Veronica on my radar to meet for quite some time. In fact I had nearly traveled all the way to the Memphis Film Festival just on the prospect of meeting her. My friend Bob had already gotten one autograph of her for me, but that still did not satisfy my yen to have a personal encounter with Veronica Cartwright. Whey the big interest, you ask? Hollywood Show and Disneyland in April 2016
Monday, June 13th, 2016As we made it near the end of the first third of 2016 (which in itself, was hard to believe), there were some happy moments and some sad, painful, and irritating moments. Out of those irritating moments spring my desire to take a break and get away for a while. Not as if going to California was anything out of the norm, but I barreled forward with planning this trip even though Carolyn couldn’t take off work for it. Frankly I had teetered with going, mostly due to high air travel costs and a relatively unimpressive Hollywood Show.
