Danny Glover: Not Too Old for This Shit

Thursday, March 27th, 2014

glov2I was quite pleased to hear that Danny Glover was going to be appearing at the Chiller Theatre Show that I was attending on October 27, 2012. It’s fun to be consistently surprised at which epic celebrities can be talked into coming out to these type of fan shows. Many of them come time and time again, so by the time you see them at the fifth show, they are as old hat as some friends that you see less than that! But for celebs like Danny Glover, one has to wonder if he’ll do a couple of shows and then that’s it; if you’ve missed him, you’ve missed him for good. Read the rest of this entry »

Only in My Dreams

Wednesday, March 26th, 2014

deb5I wouldn’t say that it has been my dream to meet 80’s pop sensation Debbie Gibson, but it is just surreal enough to be one of those events that only occur in one’s dreams. Her style of music wasn’t exactly my cup of tea in the late 1980’s, as I delved into the pop metal scene and then after a year, drifted into alternative rock and indie pop. In fact, I scoffed at that sugary pop music ushered in by Madonna, Whitney Houston, and Debbie Gibson. Bond Girls – Part 4

Friday, March 14th, 2014

bonder4Is it shaken, not stirred? Or stirred, not shaken? Yes, I could use Google to figure that out, or I could just ask one of the many, many Bond girls that I’ve met over the past few years. This is my fourth installment of a trio of Bond gals whom I’ve had the pleasure to run into – or rather, give money to – as I’ve made my way from sea to shining sea in search of fun and exotic celebrity encounters. In this installment, we’ll stick with the gals who appeared opposite the original James Bond, Sean Connery. Read the rest of this entry »

I Think Larry David Was Right…

Thursday, March 6th, 2014

sofiaSimply put, there are basically two categories of celebrities that I try to meet. The first is people who I admire because of what they’ve done. The second category is people who are fun to meet because they were there. By that I mean that any monkey could have probably played their part, but they were lucky enough to have gotten onto a show that I deem to be a classic-of-sorts. Such is the case with Sophia Milos. I can’t go so far as to say that this actress is not beautiful and talented. Beautiful, yes. Talented…well, I really can’t say. Read the rest of this entry »

Long Lost Uncle

Thursday, February 27th, 2014

lost1I’ve already confessed my love and infatuation with the early-1970’s TV Saturday morning TV series Land of the Lost. Actually I did it here, if you’d care to check it out, when I met the little girl Holly from the series (no longer a little girl as an adult Kathy Coleman of course). I’ve even come to love it more in recent days as I work my way through the first season all over again. Sometimes, I see things or hear music cues that literally send chills down my back because this show is so intimately intertwined with life as a little boy. Read the rest of this entry »
