Bond Girls – Part 5

Monday, November 24th, 2014

bond9It’s a dirty job, but somebody’s gotta do it. So far I’ve share encounters with you of exactly fifteen “Bond-Girls,” that is those actresses who have portrayed a love interest of the iconic hero James Bond in one or more of the films in the James Bond series. Fifteen of them would be a feat in itself, but clearly I have no intention of stopping there, hence this fifth entry exploring another trio of these lovely gals, which span a year’s worth of collecting. No Wyck. Rats.

wick2As a Seinfeld fan, I was quite excited to meet Bruce Davison when he appeared at the Scarefest event in Lexington, Kentucky on September 15, 2013. Mr. Davison had portrayed the character Wyck Thayer in three episodes of the series. Wyck, referred to often as “Wink” by George Costanza, was the chairman of the Susan Ross Foundation, and as the leader he assumes that George had killed his own fiancee Susan. jason1As faithful readers know, over the last couple of years I’ve been working my way through collecting autographs and photo ops with the actors/stuntmen who portrayed mass murderer Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th franchise. I had been nearing completion when I struck paydirt in the Fall of 2013 when I (nearly) completed my collection of Jason at two different events one week apart. Of course as an devotee of the series knows, The Final Chapter doesn’t always mean the FINAL chapter. But for right now, one might say I’m pretty darn complete. Read the rest of this entry »

The Wrath of Fagin

Friday, October 31st, 2014

mood2He was such an unassuming little old gentleman, just shy of 90 years of age in fact, that it was hard to believe that this was Ron Moody, who had played the villianous Fagin in the 1968 Oscar winning Best Picture Oliver! His former co-stars Mark Lester and Shani Wallis were sitting nearby, but I had already gotten them earlier in the year at the April Hollywood Show in Los Angeles. I was pleased as punch that Mr. Moody had agreed to do this Hollywood Show in Chicago on September 7, 2013, along with them. Read the rest of this entry »
