Three Sons Two Daughters

Wednesday, October 1st, 2014

mts1My sitcom obsession continued at the Hollywood Show on January 12, 2013. My Three Sons is a biggie, despite the fact that it was never one of my favorites and that I rarely watched it…and that I haven’t seen it in years. This makes no difference, as there are plenty of other sitcoms that I typically bypassed in favor of some of my favorite – but now watch regularly and love. I have no doubt that when I start watching My Three Sons on DVD – and the day most assuredly will come – I’m going to love it like most of the others. Read the rest of this entry »

Johnny Crawford: The Rifleman’s Son

Monday, September 22nd, 2014

jcr3For years I had been sitting on a signed photo of Johnny Crawford. It was a great shot of him with his TV father from the classic western series The Rifleman. It was a show that my Dad had gotten me into at a young age, and one I have long hoped to have a re-acquaintance with. That is now possible since the first season has been released on DVD. But I have had a remarkable time trying actually meet up with Johnny Crawford himself. Although he was making appearances, they were always at shows that I wasn’t attending…or they were at shows I was, but he cancelled. Remarkably, he also often met with Dick Bann and crew at the Culver Hotel for Wednesday lunches, but he wasn’t at the one that I attended. Read the rest of this entry »

Annie: The Last of the Halloween Doppelgängers

Thursday, September 18th, 2014

loom2Back in November of 2012, I attended the Horrorhound event that pretty much put to shame any preceding reunion of the cast(s) of the Halloween film(s). By getting Jamie Lee Curtis herself, they pretty much put a period at the end of any attempts of topping that show. And along with Jamie Lee, there was a smattering of co-stars from the original film (many can be seen here), as well as the original Michael Myers himself – back when he was referred to as “The Shape.” But then again, there were a few key players missing. P.J. Soles was one, but she had a very good reason: she has already committed to attend the Days of the Dead show in Chicago as part of the Rock ‘n’ Roll High School reunion (which I also attended). And then there was Nancy Loomis… Read the rest of this entry »

Braddo, Desi, & Billy

Monday, September 15th, 2014

bily2As a fan of classic rock from the 1960’s – not to mention a fan of Lucille Ball – I most certainly sat up and took notice at one of the guests who appeared at the Hollywood Show in Los Angeles on October 5, 2013. I was quite aware of the rock trio of Dino, Desi, & Billy – comprised of Dean Martin’s son Dean Paul Martin, Lucy and Desi’s son Desi Arnaz Jr., and the one that no one had heard of: Billy Hinsche. Naturally it was Billy who was making the personal appearance. Read the rest of this entry »

Camp Director 2

Monday, September 8th, 2014

miner1How far will I go? How deep will I dig into Camp Crystal Lake when it comes to collecting autographss and photos with the folks who worked in the Friday the 13th series? That’s the real question you should be asking yourself. And furthermore, why? The last part can probably never be answered, other than that it is fun. I started with the Jasons, moved on to the “final girls,” and with Sean Cunningham, I branched into the directors. Cunningham directed the first film, so it’s only natural that next I’d go with the director of the second film Friday the 13 Part 2. So I did. Read the rest of this entry »
