I love lots of things about 1984: my friends, my memories, the TV shows, the music, the movies. It all seemed to be good stuff, even if it wasn’t so good. VHS tapes were still in vogue, as was HBO, and I utilized both to watch and record the Brian DePalma thriller and sort-of Hitchcock rip-off film Body Double. Jonathan Garvey’s wife Alice went up in flames as we watched her desperately try to beat her way out of the window holding Mary Ingalls’ baby, who also perished. Read the rest of this entry »

A Bob of Her Own

Monday, November 14th, 2016

megan3I was excited to meet Megan Cavanagh when she appeared at the Hollywood Show on July 9, 2016. In the past, I have been similarly excited to meet cast members of important shows to me, only to find that they didn’t bring any photos along of said show. In a couple of cases, this caused me to bypass them altogether. This wouldn’t happen now as I’d simply go for the photo op. But fortunately that wasn’t the case here. Megan’s claim to fame to most fans was the fact that she portrayed Marla Hooch in the successful 1992 film A League of Their Own. Then she reprised the character when the series got its own TV sitcom with the same title. Read the rest of this entry »
