ROLL CALL. . .Cubby!

cubby2.jpgCubby O’Brien was one of only nine children to star as Mousketeers for the entire run (three seasons – plus a fourth which consisted of all reruns) of The Mickey Mouse Club from 1955-59. Cubby was also distinctive as being the only musical Mouseketeer who was permitted by Disney to be shown on screen playing his instrument. dis.jpgDave, Jimmy, and I spent Thursday, February 15 at Disneyland. It was my fifth time there and 2007 was now being touting it as “The Year of a Million Dreams.” Since Dave is an employee of some merit at Disney (remember the great tour?), he is capable of getting in his guests free of charge. This is a great perk for him…and us as well. Of course, it wouldn’t matter. Spending the day at Disney with Dave is treat enough, as he knows many of the ins-and-outs of the parks. The Walt Disney Studios – Scene 2

Following our walking tour of Dave’s work area, we continued along our interweaving path through the Disney buildings. We next came upon the building in which models are crafted for film and animatronic characters. There was one lone worker in there, toiling away at some project, sawdust flying every which way. Dave asked if it would be okay if we looked around and he said “Sure. No problem.” So we spent the next fifteen minutes or so gaping at the marvels of the Disney imagineers.
