2007: Here Comes Another One

img_0725.jpgHAPPY NEW YEAR! Is it just me or does New Years Eve become less and less eventful year after year? I remember when New Years Eve used to mean an unbridled drunken melee. Not to start off the year on a downer, but I didn’t do anything to celebrate this year. Despite a couple of invitations, I just sat at home and watched TV and engorged myself on crackers, canned cheese, Jose Ole Mexi-Minis (which, by the way, were very disappointing), and ginger ale. Christmas Day 2006

Another Christmas has come and gone, leaving us basking in the memories of some good times and playing with the presents we received. For instance in the shot below from Christmas 1960, we can see all the neat games and toys that would fetch a pretty penny on eBay today, nestled under the tree and ready to be destroyed.

Sandy Chandler

Sunday, December 10th, 2006

san2.jpgBob’s mother Sandra Lee Chandler passed away last week on Wednesday, November 29 after a lengthy bout with lung cancer. In the end, she was ready to go and made the decision not to prolong her belabored breathing with artificial means. Although I was never what you would call close with Sandy, my family did have occasion to celebrate various holidays and events with her over the years. She was always supportive of Denise and me and made it a point to be involved with our weddings.  Read the rest of this entry »
