Thursday, April 4th, 2013There are certain days in my life where I feel like I am unabashedly raking in every drop of fun that can satiate my wide varieties of interests. Monday, January 14, 2013, just so happened to be one of those days. I had already spent a very enjoyable weekend at the Hollywood Show meeting scads of celebrities, visited Disneyland twice, attended the memorial service of Our Ganger Peggy Ahern, eaten one of the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, visited the Grammy Museum, and hung out on Hollywood Boulevard. It would seem that this had been a great weekend without any extras, but there was more to see… more to do… more to experience, as many of my interests intertwined into a few further adventures with my friend Bob. Berlin – Part 1
Wednesday, February 27th, 2013I had trouble convincing everyone in my family to go to Berlin. Part of the problem was a pesky travel agent who told my Mom and Diana that there was no reason to go there, that only the southern portions of the country were scenic. I knew that it wasn’t going to ‘beautiful’ there, but still was desperate to make the trip (having arrived too late in Germany when I visited in 2008 to see Berlin with the Wileys). Basically, the bulk of what was on my bucket list could be found in Berlin. Admittedly, this had more to do with American history – or at least things that Americans had been involved with. Thankfully, eventually I was able to sway everyone into making the trip, even if it wasn’t scenic and it was roughly six or seven hours away from our home base in Trippstadt. By the time it was over, I think everyone concurred that it was a most important city to tour. Read the rest of this entry »
Halloween Comes to November
Thursday, December 6th, 2012Because of the potential for horrid weather coming our way from Hurricane Sandy on the scheduled Trick or Treat date of Tuesday, October 30, 2012, it was postponed until Saturday, November 3 – effectively moving Halloween – or at least everything I associate with it – to November. In addition, as you’ll read, I attended a reunion of the film franchise Halloween, also oddly placed into November. In any case, it was a nice way to spend the weeks that fell between the real Halloween and the next of the ‘Big Three’ holidays, Thanksgiving. Read the rest of this entry »
