da14.jpgAfter I had utterly stuffed myself with a wide array of delicious sushi in San Pedro, Jimmy and I headed out to our next destination of Tuesday, October 7, 2008: the CBS Studios in Hollywood. Bob had secured us V.I.P. tickets to see the afternoon taping of Dancing With the Stars. I must admit that I had never been a follower of the show and was only going because I knew that it was something that many others might consider to be a cool thing. While I do enjoy TV tapings such as these, they do not thrill me as much as other celebrity events because I know that there is little or no chance of any personal interaction with the celebrities. The Hills Were Alive…

sound3.jpgAfter the nauseating experience of Dachau, I felt a little guilty about us popping into a German McDonalds located not a mile away from the site of the concentration camp. Jimmy was hesitant to stop at all seeing that we had spent an extra half hour at Dachau than we had budgeted. The plan was to spend two hours from 11am-1pm driving our rental car from Dachau to Salzburg, Austria on the afternoon of Saturday, July 18, our last day in Europe. w11.jpgAfter the long, busy, and incredible day I had experienced on Monday, it felt good to sleep in a bit and spend a nice leisurely morning relaxing at Jimmy’s house when I got up on Tuesday, October 7. Cassidy had sent home some of the leftover pizza from the party at her place on Sunday and I had the leftover Olive Garden to snack on in the morning. And of course, there was the traditional giant carton of Goldfish crackers which hit the spot while watching some more reruns of It’s Your Move. And naturally, as any good road trip must be preceded by, there was the cermonial reading aloud of the hilarious pamphlet So What About Fin? Read the rest of this entry »

Arbeit Macht Frei

dac7.jpgIt was hard to believe that we were getting ready to spend our last day together in Europe when we got up on the morning of Saturday, July 19, 2008 in Munich, Germany. In one sense, it had seemed like we had been here forever, seeing so many things and visiting so many places. But on the other hand, it was hard to believe that my two-week journey was drawing to a close. We had a lot to see this day, so we got up and moving relatively early. There was no breakfast at the Renaissance Munich Hotel where we were staying, a first in Europe. We jumped into our rental and headed out for our first destination of the day: the Olympic Park.

Misadventures on Hollywood Boulevard

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

hw2.jpgOf the many times I have been to California and trod the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard, gaping at the many stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, I seldom took any photos of the area – even during recent visits. In fact, the best I did was a lone photo of me in front of the lion statue at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre (which was known as Mann’s Chinese Theatre at the time) and some shots of the stars without me in them from 1988 ! So after we finished up with our lunch with Adam Sadowsky on Monday, October 6, 2008, Jimmy drove me over to the Walk of Fame area where we parked the car and simply browsed the area.
