April 1980 Birthdays – Denise and Karen

db1.jpgJust two days after Easter 1980, Denise celebrated her fourth birthday on April 8. While I don’t pretend to remember the specifics of this event, I found two photos of her with her cake. The celebration here was taking place in our dining room. Visible in the photo below is something even more interesting than the cake: the world’s tackiest napkin holder sitting on top of the de-humidifier in our dining room.

Convention Kickoff

The 15th International Sons of the Desert Convention kicked off officially on Wednesday night, July 12, 2006. Bob, Ashleigh, and I had made our own excursions to Atlanta, Americus, Plains, and Warm Springs before our initial arrival in Augusta. Then travelled along with some Sons on the two pre-convention trips back to Americus and Plains and then to Savannah to see the area. A Fresh New Haircut

img500nu.jpgI’m not really sure why my Grandpa F decided to snap these two photos of people getting their hair cut, but I’m glad he did. I guess this proves that we share the same blood. At left is my Grandma getting her new ‘do’ in 1961 from Mrs. Happensack, the neighbor across the street. Below are two shots of my Dad, the first showing him getting his hair cut by his Uncle Joe in November 1958.
