Tanya Roberts

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

tr2I wasn’t a huge fan of Charlie’s Angels, so I don’t really recall when Tanya Roberts took over the third angel slot from Shelley Hack during the fifth and final season of the show. And not being a huge James Bond fan, I haven’t yet seen A View To a Kill in which Tanya Roberts portrayed Bond girl Stacey Sutton. But I do certainly recall that she was one of the biggest sex symbols of the 80’s (and corresponding Playboy cover pictorial) and my boyhood memories recall that great topless scene in HBO stapleĀ The Beastmaster. That and Kodo and Podo. Read the rest of this entry »

The Madman Turns Three

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

ad19After a morning of tinkering around on Sunday morning, September 13, 2009, I finally headed out of the house around 2:30pm. My final destination would be Mom’s house, where we were celebrating my nephew Adam’s third birthday. On the way, I stopped off at Toys ‘R’ Us to pick up his giant Hot Wheel Parking Garage and a Winnie the Pooh puzzle. I also made a brief stop at the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival. I didn’t have time to walk around much, but I met up with Heidi for about a half-hour to see her kids jump around inside one of those things kids jump around in. Read the rest of this entry »

Poltergeist Kid

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

polt2Oliver Robins had only a brief film career, but did manage to star in one of the most popular and influential horror films of the 1980’s. In the scare-a-thon flick Poltergeist, Oliver held the role of Robbie Freling, older brother to Carol Ann (Heather O’Rourke) and younger brother of Dana (Dominique Dunne). Ironically, he is the only child actor from the film who survives today, having managed (so far) to escape the Poltergeist curse that supposedly took the lives of O’Rourke and Dunne. Disney’s California Adventure ’09

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

as18I would not have thought that it was possible to enjoy spending an entire day at Disney’s California Adventure park…but I was wrong. Typically when I visit California, my friends and I spend just a brief time at this park, hitting a few highlights and then quickly move on over to Disneyland around lunch time. And so it has been with my last three visits. However, whereas those three visits have been during the off-season when my pal David can get us free admission to both parks, but his one was smack in the middle of the Summer – Thursday, July 16, 2009, to be exact. Bryan and Erine’s Wedding

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

ae4After many years of preliminary dating, my step-brother Bryan finally took it upon himself to get hitched to the very nice and lovely Erine Jennings. The wedding took place at Carillon Park on Saturday, September 12, 2009. This was my second wedding of the year and it too was an outdoor affair. And it too was remarkably brief. There was a bit of music, the procession of the bridesmaids, groomsman, and the bride, a short reading, some incessant car alarm going off, the vows, and that was that. Twenty minutes later Bryan and Erine were hitched. Read the rest of this entry »
