My Aunt Is Very Sick, Catherine Mary Stewart
Sunday, September 18th, 2011It was ironic that Catherine Mary Stewart was appearing at the Flashback Weekend Horror Convention in Chicago on Sunday, August 14, 2011. I hadn’t even known that I would be attending this show beforehand – when I chose to show Jamie the film Weekend at Bernie’s exactly one week earlier. Catherine Mary Stewart had portrayed Gwen, the summer intern that Richard (Jonathan Silverman) developed a debilitating crush on. In fact, the first time he approached her for a date, the only words that would come out of his mouth was the non-sequitur “my aunt is very sick.” Read the rest of this entry »
Bill Clinton and Me
Saturday, September 17th, 2011Only future history will reveal how President Bill Clinton’s administration is viewed and rated. The sex scandal that led to his becoming only the second President in American history to be impeached is just too fresh in our minds. But even with the periodic scandals that marred his administration from 1993-2001, Clinton still ranks high in the list of all-time greatest Presidents and left office with relatively high approval ratings. The Brady-In-Law
Thursday, September 15th, 2011The final celebrity that I met at the Hollywood Show in Burbank on Saturday, October 9, 2010, proved to be one of the nicest. It was only after an awkward situation – in true Brady Bunch fashion – reared its head that I found this out. The actor Jerry Houser was never in a single episode of The Brady Bunch – but he did play a prominent role in Brady history. He first became Mr. Marcia Brady – that is Marcia’s husband Wally Logan – in the spin-off TV film and series The Brady Girls Get Married aka The Brady Brides. He then continued the role as Marcia’s incredibly lucky husband in A Very Brady Christmas and the short-lived dramedy The Bradys. Read the rest of this entry »
Five Years of One Catsafterme After Another
Tuesday, September 13th, 2011On September 13, 2011, The Terrible Catsafterme (along with my nephew Adam) turned five years old. It’s been quite a while since I’ve written extensively about the mechanics of this website. While it’s kind of fun to write about such things, it’s not always the most interesting reading. This is currently the 1286th posting. Out of all of these, this is only the third that I’ve dedicated to blabbing about the website. The first one had its merit as it was celebrating the first year anniversary of the site. At that time, I felt like I was a seasoned pro. The second came just six months after that, with the sole purpose in announcing the change of moving from a daily posting to four postings a week. It also speculated that I was about halfway through what I had originally envisioned as a three-year project. This one, as it happens, is here not only to celebrate and reminisce about the first five years of the website – which still isn’t even close to completion, but to point out some improvements I’ve made to the blog. Yes, over the last five years, I’ve made peace with calling it a blog. Read the rest of this entry »
