Wednesday, August 20th, 2014It’s always nice when so-called reunions of this film or that film bring obscure character actors to an autograph show, who most likely wouldn’t be there for the reason that I think they should be. It’s happened many times in the past. There was Jerry Houser who showed up for Summer of ’42 – but I knew him from The Brady Brides. There was Robert Davi who was there for his James Bond appearance, but I knew him from The Goonies. And of course there was Barry Bostwick who was present because he was in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when I knew and loved him for Murder by Natural Causes. Those are just a few of many examples. Monday, August 18th, 2014Sometimes making it big in Professional Wrestling doesn’t have much at all to do with wrestling ability. Sometimes it’s about how well you can strut your stuff. Sometimes it’s about how badly you can piss people off. It’s about how much the crowd will buy into you whether you’re a hero or a heel. Jerry Lawler had been all of that and done all of that. From his early days and his feud with Jimmy Hart in the AWA to his feud with Bret Hart in the WWF, Lawler had always been outspoken enough that he was a natural to take over as commentator as an announcer of the WWF Superstars of Wrestling in 1992.
