Live Long Enough and Eventually Prosper
Thursday, February 9th, 2017Over the years I have kept the readers of this website apprised of my ongoing quest to assemble autographs/photos with the main cast of the original Star Trek series. Not too terribly much be said about that as I’ve said it all before. The last update was back in 2012 when I was able to get a photo op with William Shatner, as can be seen here. You’ll note if you look at it, I ended it with the wish that I might finally get the chance to meet Nichelle Nichols, which would effectively put this particular quest to a close. Sadly James Doohan and DeForrest Kelly both passed away before I ever got the chance to meet them. And in days since that posting, Leonard Nimoy passed away in February of 2015 as well. The Face of Jake
Thursday, February 9th, 2017The most intriguing thing to me about current Disney TV animation is that one of my best friends David works on many of the shows. One of the shows that he worked on was Jake and the Never Land Pirates on Disney Junior. Obviously most of these shows are geared toward children which would explain my lack of interest. However this one has elicited more interest than normal as both my nephew Adam and grandson Silas both were into it, and David has passed on several pieces of memorabilia to them related to the show. Thursday, February 2nd, 2017I love lots of things about 1984: my friends, my memories, the TV shows, the music, the movies. It all seemed to be good stuff, even if it wasn’t so good. VHS tapes were still in vogue, as was HBO, and I utilized both to watch and record the Brian DePalma thriller and sort-of Hitchcock rip-off film Body Double. While his Dressed to Kill has received some critical acclaim, Body Double had been slammed pretty hard. I want to say it has gotten better with age, but it’s actually gotten sort of worse.
