Thriller Bunny
Monday, May 14th, 2018Beatlemania was a bit before my time, but in the 1980’s the closest thing to it came into the country’s lives around 1983 when Michael Jackson released his album Thriller. Everyone liked it: the kids, the parents, the critics, the industry. In fact, even if Michael Jackson didn’t quite achieve the commercialism heights of the Beatles (at least I don’t recall Michael Jackson wigs in the department stores), the release of his video Thriller was probably as anticipated as the Fab Four starring in the film A Hard Day’s Night. Laurel & Hardy Location Scouting Rounds Out the 2014 Convention Trip
Friday, April 20th, 2018Watching Laurel & Hardy films has been such an integral part of my psyche ever since the age eight, that devouring them through sight and sound is just a part of how my pay my respects and reverence to the films. Certainly meeting the folks who worked in them has been one of the great joys in my life. Sadly they are almost all gone now, but coming in at second place as a way to actually become ‘part’ of these films is to visit the places where they shot them. More specifically, to actually stand in the presence of buildings and landmarks that can be seen in the films. Read the rest of this entry »
