Continuing with my diary from 1980…
March 1 – I got up and watched “Little Rascals.” (we didn’t tape it. it was a half-hour show on Saturday). The I went to Kenny’s house. We talked I came home and watched “Pardon Us.” Then I made a old car. It was a project for school (our program) (mine and Sunil’s) Then we watched “Bohemian girl.”
March 2 – At sunday school I got a award for perfect attendance. I came home and watched “Little Rascals” then I watched “Air Raid Wardens,” “Nothin But trouble” “Bohemian girl”, “Blotto”, “Towed in a Hole,” and “Brats”. Then I ate supper. Then I read. Then I took a bath. Then I watched “The monkeys uncle” and “Alice” on TV.
–Ah, sounds like a relaxing Sunday afternoon in front of the TV with Laurel and Hardy. I still do that once in a while.
March 3 – At school in my reading grup I was the only one who got a 100% in the unit test. I came home and played TV Tennis. Then we ate supper then I wrote numbers like 1+1=2 2+2=4 3+3=6 and I got to 265+265=530. Then we ate supper. The I watche “Tic Tac Dough.” Then I read. (“Laurel and Hardy”). Then I watched “WKRP in Cincinnati”
March 4 – After school Lee came over. We counted my money. I had $18.00. We watched part of “Towed in a Hole” and part of “Brats.” then we went to Grandma’s house. We watched “Satruday night Fever.” (they have cable (HBO) And we ate tacos with them.
–Grandma and Grandpa Murphy were the first people in the family – in fact, the first we knew — that had HBO, which brought the capablility to see un-edited commercial-free movies into your own home.
March 5 – After school Lee came over we watched “Brats’ and part of “Hog Wild.” Then Dad and I went to “the Library” and “Goldmans”
March 6 – At school today we learned the two (small) letters z v our last (small) letters. After school I watched “Solid Gold ’79.” (we taped it)(last night). I read “Brats” two times out loud to mom. At school we’re going to (Achievement program) read to Mrs. Fulkerson’s class (A school class). then I watched “TV the Fabulous 50’s”
–I certainly understood the fine art of using parentheses, although I had a tendency to place them in odd places. One of my assignements in this ‘achievement class’ was to read a story to a first grade class. I chose to incorporate my newfound love and read the synopsis of the film “Brats” from the McCabe/Kilgore/Bann “Laurel and Hardy” book.
March 7 – After school Mom brought home “Mcdonalds” food (every Friday)
March 8 – I got up and went to Chiss and Lisa’s house. And than Lee’s house but he wasn’t home. Then I came home and and worked on the vidio tape camara for the longest time. (But my main one was “Trips”)
March 9 – I got up and watched “Sorry wrong number” (we taped it Last night) then I went to church. After I came home I watched (a little of the rest of “Sorry Wrong number”) Sorry wrong number.” The I went out-(it was warm)-side. Then I came in and watched “Sorry wrong numbe.” (again)
–Now I’m putting parenthetical statements in the middle of words.
March 10 – (Today was so-so-so warm) after school Lee came over we played “Billy O Crop.” (two movies called “Windy nights” and “windy nights II” By 7:52, the temp was 41. I watched “WKRP in Cincinnati” and half of “That’s Incredible.” (“WKRP” came on at 8:00 for a half hour. “Thats Increible came on at 8:00 for a hour. So I watched the last half) By the time I went to bed (9:36) the temp. was 31.
March 11 – After school Mom told me “Sunil called” I called him. He wanted to know what time were going to read tomorrow (special classes)(I Didn’t know) Then I read (40 minutes) Then I watched “Lavrne and Shirly” and “Three’s company.”
March 12 – I got up and watched (half of) “Psycho”. After school I came home and watche “Psycho”. then I watched “Differnt Strokes” and “Facks of Life.”
March 13 – After school Mark came over. We didn’t do much we were going to watch “Psycho” But he had to go home at 4:00 (Mom’s story is over at 4:00 and we don’t get home till 3:30 Mom don’t work on Thursday and Tuesday it use to Be Tuesday and Wed.) then Lee came over (right after Mark)(Mark was just Leaving) (I was going to call him too) and we did watch “Psycho.” (I don’t know if he like it or not)
March 14 – After school Mark came over. Then Sunil came over. (spent the night) I stayed up till 2:47 A.M. (My latest Record of staying up was 2:12 P.M.)
March 15 – I was into A middle of a “Kiss” dream and Sunil woke me up. Then we played with the camara. Sunil went home a 1:15 P.M.
