I have never had any real particular affinity for Shannen Doherty. In more recent years, her name has become synonymous with trouble – as she had her issues with cat-fights and drunk driving charges. And somehow through the vixenish characters she has played throughout her career, particularly on Beverly Hills 90210, she has developed a reputation as a real Hollywood bad girl. So it was quite a pleasant surprise to find her so nice and attractive when I got the chance to meet her at the Hollywood Show on July 18, 2009.
As far as my own interest in Shannen Doherty, most if it lies in the fact that she is a well-known A-list actress. It is true that I have enjoyed some of her TV work such as Our House, and some appearances on the later Little House on the Prairie episodes, and some of her film work in tiny gems such as Girls Just Want to Have Fun, Heathers, and Mallrats. But oddly, I never got into the shows that she was most famous for: 90210 and Charmed.
I had feared when I heard that she would be appearing at the collectors’ show that we would be raped on the cost of her autograph and that she would be rather cold and distant with the fans. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that her signed photos were a reasonable (relatively speaking) $25, with an additional $10 fee to pose for a photo with her. And I am happy to report that she was extremely friendly and amiable to all who went through her long line, cordially asking how we wanted the photos made out and jumping up and down to come out to you to pose for photos.
She’s not the most famous actress in Hollywood, but it was refreshing to see that not all of these gals are as pretentious and snooty as one might expect. For an A-list star, she gets a B+.

I watched both 90210 AND Charmed. But I have no opinion of Shannen – other than I think she’s cute. I’m glad to hear that she was nice.
