Brad's Musings and Meanderings

"I've had an interesting morning. In the last two hours I've lost my job, my apartment, my car, and my girlfriend." - John Winger, "Stripes"

It’s not enough to just meet one Fake Jan in a year’s time. After having previously met Geri Reischl who had replaced Eve Plumb as Jan Brady in The Brady Bunch Variety Hour at the Chiller Theatre Show in April, it was a treat to meet yet another Fake Jan at the Burbank Hollywood Show on July 18, 2009. Now Eve Plumb remains the only “Jan” I’ve never met, and along with Maureen McCormick, the only original Brady I’ve never met.

But to call Jennifer Elise Cox “Fake Jan” is a little misleading. Because she starred as Jan Brady in The Brady Bunch Movie and A Very Brady Sequel, she was just one of an entire cast of “Fakes” as these films were more of a parody of the Bradys, rather than a direct incarnation of them. Nevertheless, Cox’ role as Jan was certainly one of the funniest highlights of both films. And minus the crazy hair curls, Jennifer Elise Cox is still rather hot.

She was also one of the nicest gals I’ve ever met at one of these shows. She charged the standard $20 for the autographed photo, but was exuberantly willing to come from behind the table and pose for a picture for free. The nuzzling and referring to me as “cutie” was an added bonus.

She hasn’t had a tremendous amount of notable roles (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Bewitched (movie), Will & Grace, and Sex and the City would be a few), but she certainly possessed the charm to win my heart over. Here’s to Fake Jans the world over. They’re all so nice!
