Oliver and My Company

Saturday, June 29th, 2013

oliver3If you’ve ever found yourself singing Food, Glorious Food – or even Consider Yourself or I’d Do Anything – then chances are you’ve seen either the Broadway show or the film Oliver! I’ve only seen the film, and I’ve liked it. While there were a great number of actors/singers who portrayed the title role of Oliver and the pivotal role of Nancy, there were (so far) only two who have played them in the film version – which I might add won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1969. I was understandably pretty psyched (not to be confused with Sikes) to find that these very actors would be appearing at the Hollywood Show on April 20, 2013. Read the rest of this entry »

New York, New York, Part One, Part One

Friday, June 28th, 2013

ny3With the number of times that I’ve flown into New York City, I have spent very scant time doing anything there. This one is a little bit more on the obsucre side and is one that I had to be in the right frame of mind to pick up. It comes from Halloween 5, the 1989 entry in the series that featured Danielle Harris as little Jamie Lloyd – whom I’ve already covered here. Typically I don’t get autographs from all the victims of mad killers such as Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers, but I made an exception with Tamara Glynn, who played Samantha Thomas in the film. Bond Girls – Part 2

Wednesday, June 26th, 2013

bondo5It was fortuitous that I started collecting autographs of the Bond Girls when I did, because on January 12, 2013, one of the so-called ‘reunions’ of the Bond Girls was taking place at the Hollywood Show in Los Angeles. And I was there. And I collected. I didn’t get every single one; I had to draw the line somewhere – but I did get a smattering. If you’re interested in Bond Girls, you can click here to check out the start of my series of Bond Girl encounters from various celebrity shows, but if not, you can just check out three of the five that I met at this particular one… Read the rest of this entry »
