Instead of explaining the entire history of the Halloween trio of beauties and their respective doppelgängers, I might refer you back to my posting on Nancy Loomis, who became the last of the so-called doppelgängers for me to meet. At that point I had already met Kristina Klebe, even though I’m posting our encounter much much later. Such is the nature of this incredibly-behind blog of mine. But if you don’t feel like going back to that posting, I’ll briefly fill you in:
The original John Carpenter Halloween from 1978 included three primary female leads that were stalked by Michael Myers: Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), Annie Brackett (Nancy Loomis), and Lynda van der Klok (P.J. Soles). Likewise when Rob Zombie re-tooled the film in 2007, he used the same three lead female characters, this time portrayed by, respectively, Scout-Taylor Compton, Danielle Harris, and, you guessed it, Kristina Klebe. And if you were too lazy to click on the original link, you probably aren’t clicking on all of these… but hopefully you’ve inferred that I’ve met them all, and now I present the last one… which was actually the second-to-last chronologically that I met.
Our encounter came on July 17, 2013 at the Days of the Dead in Indianapolis. Honestly I had great experiences with all of the actresses, and Kristina Klebe was no exception. I was quite excited to get the chance since I had already met her two co-stars together, and now wished that the photo I had Kristina sign was the one I had had the other girls sign (a similar shot of the original cast is also out there being signed, but not for me).
The event in general was pretty dead by that Sunday, so Carolyn and I had ample time with nearly all of the celebrities there. Kristina filled us in on some of the movie work she was currently undertaking, while Carolyn chatted about playing the part of Mina in the play Dracula.
I subsequently became friends with Kristina Klebe on Facebook and find her to be a delightful and beautiful person. Although I’m not too familiar with most of the work she’s done since Halloween, I have one of her films, appropriately titled Tales of Halloween on my radar, as it was pretty well received.
This was my favorite kind of encounter: someone I am anxious to meet, someone who is extremely friendly and kind, someone who is attractive (so our picture looks good even with me in it), and someone who charges a reasonable $20, which includes a photo op. Meeting Kristina Klebe was part of what made this show a great one.
Celebrities of the 2013 Indianapolis Days of the Dead will continue…
